It’s that time of year again
I wonder what your response to this time of year is…..unhappy about the darkness or the cold? Not too excited about the festivities?
Or jumping in happily to party-time and glitter?
For those of us who are more extrovert this time of year can be a lot of fun, especially if we have good family and friends around us.
For those of us who are more introvert, we may be happy staying in and getting cosy in front of the TV or the fire, and/or we may wish the whole thing would go away.
Either way many of us have difficulty coping with certain family members – Aunty Jane always drinks too much and behaves badly, your beloved child has forgotten everything you’ve ever done for them and is refusing to speak to you; an infinite variation of tricky scenarios may be available to you, even if it’s that you may be on your own and wish you weren’t.
Or you may be a genius at anxiety at this time of year, just desperate to get it all right, never satisfied with what you’ve created.
So….. I’m here to remind you…..your 3 golden rules for December:
- You can’t change other people
- It’s time to ditch your perfectionist tendencies
- You are ABSOLUTELY good enough. Yes, I’m talking to YOU!
Remember that whole Lightning Process thing about changing your state? Many of you reading this will know that you have the tools for this. Hey, maybe you could use them?
Decide now what state(s) you’d like to do the festive season in,
and imagine how it will be now that you’ve decided to love and accept yourself (and possibly even some other people as well) for the whole month.
Wishing you the very best of times
Pippa
